Message from the Webmaster

Welcome to The Irony Maiden!

My aim in these pages is to fill gaps, not to build a Daria supersite. It all began in 1998 when I had difficulty tracking down Daria books and videos in the UK. Having eventually (partly) succeeded, I decided to create a web page to make it easier for other UK and European fans; the other pages just followed. I aim to avoid duplicating information that's already out there on the existing Daria websites; if I've succeeded, all you'll find here is what you won't find elsewhere.

Having mentioned the other sites, I should give you some links. One is to the MTV official Daria site; if you prefer your irony in Spanish, check out the Daria homepage at MTVLA; for Italian, try MTV Italia. MTV France has no significant Daria content, but French speakers will enjoy Plančte Daria.

There are some excellent English language fan sites, and a moment with your favourite search engine should find you enough to keep you busy. Plot synopses for every episode are among the many features of Outpost Daria, and The Paperpusher's Message Board is a popular stopping-off point for Daria fans looking for a diverting discussion. The DVDaria campaign aims to convince MTV and Viacom that there's a market for Daria DVDs. The Daria Fandom Blog keeps an eye on Daria's dymanic fan community, and is worth watching for announcements of newly published fanfic and fanart.

Have fun!

Martin.

PS You can easily tell a friend about The Irony Maiden. You get to edit the message just as you want it. This feature uses your own email program, not one of those web-based features that harvests addresses for third parties. Tell a friend may not work with every combination of web browser and email program.

PPS Should anyone be overwhelmed with a curious desire to know what I look like, they might find a photo here.

Why no Daria pictures here?

People who first visited The Irony Maiden a long time ago (welcome back!) might notice some changes here. Some pictures are gone, and there's more legal jargon. Here's why.
