SHORT VERSION OF IICY ON DVD
A brief examination of the next DARIA DVD, due for release in the USA on Tuesday, shows that the scene of Daria and Tom at Tom's house, early in the movie, begins with the Sick Sad World sequence. In the long version, shown on MTV on 21st January, it started with Daria and Tom playing a video game together. The DVD version runs about eight minutes shorter than the premiere version.

IICY DVD CONTROVERSY CONTINUES
While VIACOM claim the 66-minute long version of IS IT COLLEGE YET?, the second DARIA movie, used on next week's DVD release, is the full, uncut version, two fans who taped the longer version shown once on MTV, on 21st January, insist that its running time without video and hosting segments is about 74 minutes.

YOU'VE GOT THE LOT, CLAIM VIACOM
According to an email from MTV parent company VIACOM, quoted on the alt.tv.daria newsgroup, the 66-minute long version of IS IT COLLEGE YET?, the second DARIA movie, used on next week's DVD release, is in fact the full, uncut version of the movie. It is possible that those fans who timed the first showing of IICY may have erroneously counted a music video and host wrap-arounds as part of the movie's running time, which they reported as about 74 minutes.
